Furthermore, the firm has delegated the risk management and compliance functions to the company BV & Compliance Sagl. in Lugano, Switzerland, to ensure that these critical aspects of the business are in the hands of experienced professionals.

Markus Josef Gresch
President
Mr. Markus Gresch, LIC, IUR., LLM serves as the president and board member of Illumina Capital Management SA. In addition to his duties at Illumina, he sits on the board of over 25 Swiss Companies including the Proman AG Group, one of the leading trading and procurement companies in the world. Earlier in life, He was engaged as consultant for multinational companies with Winterthur Life Insurance, where he was responsible for pension planning services. Mr. Gresch completed his studies of Law at the University of Zurich where he obtained a Lic. Jur Dregree in 1982, a Patent Attorney Degree in 1985 and an LLM in international Law in 2001. He speaks German and English.
Bruno Florenzano
Managing Director - CEO and Founder
Bruno has been a Managing Director of Illumina Capital Management since 2006, the year of the Company foundation. Before he was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in its Wealth Management Division, for several years, covering the Latin American Markets from its Swiss Bank. Earlier in his career he was a Product Manager at the General Electric Company in its Electrical Distribution and Control Division in the US. Bruno has an MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University in New York City. Earlier on he obtained a Bachelor Degree in Political Sciences from Hunter College of the City University of New York. Bruno speaks English, Italian and Portuguese.
Carolina Aeschlimann
Legal
Carolina has several years of experience within the corporate legal field. In Switzerland she worked in international organizations, NGOs and the private sector. She holds a license to practice law in Brazil (OAB/SP). She has co-authored numerous law books and articles for law journals. Carolina has a Master Degree in International Law and International Relations from the University of Lisbon (Portugal). She speaks Portuguese, English and German.
Antonio Russo
Risk Manager
Antonio has had a long and lasting relationship with Illumina. He is the Company’s risk manager and the asset manager substitute. Previously, from 2012 to 2019, Antonio was the founder and CEO of Nine East Consulting, a Lugano based fiduciary company dealing with wealth management and estate planning clients. Earlier on Antonio worked for more than 20 years in the Arner Banking Group and at Arner Bank covering several functions doing his tenure. He served as the bank’s Risk Manager and finally as its Chief Financial Officer. Through his vast experience he has been able to advise clients on a wide range of issues as in assisting clients optimize their business planning and investments, in Switzerland and internationally. Antonio is a graduate of the ISTUD Business School in Stresa, Italy. He speaks Italian, English, French and basic German.
Federico Rosin
Senior Consultant
Federico manages assets from a regulated Malta Wealth Management Company. During the last 25 years Federico has been a successful asset manager in several banks such as Banco Popolare in Switzerland. He also managed the proprietary assets of Olivetti International. He specializes in Emerging Markets Bonds, US and European Equities and Foreign Exchange. Federico has a Master Degree in Economics at the New School of Social Research in New York City. Before that he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Economics from New York University. Federico speaks fluent English and Italian.
